Advanced Ticketing - Customize Ticket Behaviour for Attendees
Event hosts have the ability to customize ticketing options for their event attendees:
- Tickets can be transferable (issuing a new QR code and invalidating the old one) and editable (enabling changes to the name/email while keeping the same QR code).
- For timed entry events, hosts can allow customers to change their own date/timeslot.
- Enable the Requires Approval option to review orders before attendees can purchase tickets.
- Event hosts can choose when or if to end ticket sales—either pre-event or during the event. Hosts can specify the timeframe for when ticket sales will close. Note that this setting applies to the event listing as a whole, not individual ticket types.
- All Universe customers will receive a confirmation email upon ticket purchase, including the ticket QR code and a PDF attachment containing a copy of the tickets. Event hosts can decide whether or not to include the PDF.
- Hosts can reset check-ins for a specific timeslot and ticket type, allowing tickets to be scanned again and resetting the check-in counts to zero.

Email Notifications for Event Attendees
- Email reminders are automatically sent to customers 24 hours before the event, containing the confirmation email information and the ticket QR code. If an event host prefers to send their own reminders or does not want these notifications to be sent, they can disable Universe reminders here.
- Attendee order emails are automatically sent by Universe to customers after they purchase tickets. If an event host prefers to send their own confirmation emails, they can disable Universe emails here.
Email Notifications for Event Hosts
Event hosts can choose whether to receive notifications about ticket purchases. They can also choose to receive notifications individually or grouped together.
Waitlist
- Enable or disable the waitlist feature. When enabled, customers are emailed when tickets become available after a sold-out event (with 5 or more tickets added to the capacity). For timed entry events, the waitlist will only trigger once all ticket types and timeslots are sold out.
- Add a privacy policy to provide a marketing opt-in for event hosts during waitlist signup and to access the Waitlist Contacts report. Note that this feature can only be enabled by your Client Services Manager. If you're an event organizer interested in partnering with us, please submit a request here.
