View sales across all your events from your Universe account's ‘Dashboard’. By default, the dashboard will show you sales data from the last 30 days across all events and timeslots, and your primary settlement currency. You can adjust the filters on your dashboard to drill down into your data as you like.
Legend:
1. Filters
To filter your data, adjust the filter dropdowns on the top of the page. You will see 5 filtering options: 'Currency', 'Events', 'Date of order', ‘Date of attendance’, and the ability to view results for tickets, add-ons, or both. The data that matches your current filter settings will populate in the visualizations below.
Currency filter: Filter to view results based on settlement currency. Single-select functionality is supported.
Events filter: Filter to view results for one or many events. Multi-select functionality is supported using the ‘Custom’ option.
Date of order filter: Filter to view results based on transaction date. Select a custom date range using the ‘Custom’ option.
Date of attendance filter: Filter to view results based on attendance date and time. Use the' Custom' option to select a custom date, time, or date and time range.
Results filter: Filter to view sales data for tickets, add-ons or tickets and add-ons.
2. Overview tab
Use the Overview tab to monitor key performance indicators for your business, like net earnings and tickets sold. Track sales over time, and sales broken down by event, time slot, and ticket type.
Gross sales chart: Monitor total gross sales, and track week-over-week accumulated gross sales in the chart trend line. Gross sales is the face value of tickets, add-ons, and any additional fees, and taxes you collect on your events.
Net sales chart: Monitor your total net sales, and track week-over-week accumulated net sales in the chart trend line. Net sales is your gross sales less any discounts, refunds, lost disputes, and absorbed service fees.
Net sales breakdown: Review a breakdown of each net value that makes up your total net sales:
- Ticket sales: This corresponds to your net ticket sales
- Add-on sales: This corresponds to your net add-on sales
- Cash sales: This corresponds to your net cash sales
- Additional fees: This corresponds to any additional fees you are collecting
- Collected taxes: This corresponds to any taxes you are collecting
- Total discounts: This reflects discounts given to buyers who entered a discount code, received a social deal, or a complimentary ticket.
- Service charge, included in price: This corresponds to Universe fees charged to you. This only applies if you set an event’s pricing to absorb fees.
- Tax on service fee: This corresponds to any local taxes collected on top of your service fee. Learn more about when these taxes are charged here.
Tickets chart: Monitor total tickets sold, and track week-over-week accumulated sales in the chart trend line.
Orders chart: Monitor total orders sold, and track week-over-week accumulated sales in the chart trend line.
Add-ons chart: Monitor total add-ons sold, and track week-over-week accumulated sales in the chart trend line.
Paid vs. Free chart: Monitor the breakdown of paid vs. free tickets and/or add-ons sold. A paid item has a net earnings value greater than $0.
Net sales by event chart: Monitor a timeline of your net sales grouped by event for easy comparison. The y-axis represents net earnings, while the x-axis represents the order date. De-select events in the chart legend to temporarily remove the event data from the chart.
Event breakdown charts: Switch between tabs to view your net earnings and tickets, and/or add-ons sold by varying dimensions of your event.
- By event: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table grouped by event. The table reports on net earnings and the quantity of tickets and/or add-ons sold. Cell bars are displayed for both metrics and indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
- By timeslot: This pivot table chart is grouped by the date and time of each event’s timeslot. The table reports on net earnings and the quantity of tickets and/or add-ons sold.
- By type: This pivot table chart is grouped by ticket and/or add-on type as well as the date and time of each event’s timeslot. The table reports on net earnings and the quantity of tickets and/or add-ons sold.
3. Trends tab
Use the Trends tab to understand customer purchasing patterns, and how earnings and ticket sales perform over different time grains.
Ticket sales trends charts:
- Hour of day: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the hour of day they were purchased. On the x-axis, 00 represents 12:00 AM and 23 represents 11:00 PM.
- Day of week: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the day of week they were purchased. On the x-axis, each number represents a day of the week:
- 1: Monday
- 2: Tuesday
- 3: Wednesday
- 4: Thursday
- 5: Friday
- 6: Saturday
- 7: Sunday
- Day: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the date they were purchased. On the x-axis, each number represents a calendar date.
- Week: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the week of purchase. On the x-axis, each week is represented by the date of the first Monday of the week.
- Month: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the month of purchase.
- Year: Monitor net earnings and quantity sold grouped by the year of purchase.
Sales by ticket type chart: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table grouped by ticket and/or add-on type. The table reports on net earnings, and the quantity of tickets and/or add-ons sold, as well as the percentage of quantity sold. Percentage of quantity sold is calculated based on the data within the displayed rows. Cell bars are displayed for the net earnings and quantity sold metrics to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
Average ticket price chart: This chart represents the average amount that customers spend on an item (ticket or add-on) within an order. This figure can give valuable insight into customer spending habits.
Average order price chart: This chart represents the average amount that customers spend on an order.
Average tickets per order chart: This chart represents the average number of items (tickets or add-ons) that a customer will purchase within a single order.
4. BoxOffice tab
Use the Boxoffice tab to view and track check-ins and onsite sales for your events.
- Total check-ins chart: Monitor total check-ins, and track daily accumulated check-ins in the chart trend line. A check-in represents a valid ticket or add-on that has been scanned or manually checked in through the boxoffice app.
- Remaining check-ins chart: Monitor total remaining check-ins, and track daily remaining check-ins in the chart trend line. A remaining check-in is a valid ticket or add-on that has not been redeemed through the boxoffice app.
- Check-ins by event: Monitor a timeline of check-ins grouped by event for easy comparison. The y-axis represents check-ins, while the x-axis represents the event attendance date. De-select events in the chart legend to temporarily remove the event data from the chart.
- Onsite net sales by event: Monitor a timeline of net sales processed through the BoxOffice app grouped by event for easy comparison. The y-axis represents net earnings, while the x-axis represents the order date. De-select events in the chart legend to temporarily remove the event data from the chart.
- Check-ins by:
- Event: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports the total number of tickets and/or add-ons checked-in as well as the total remaining check-ins grouped by event. Cell bars are displayed for each metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column. The table includes the event name, the unique event ID, and the total and remaining check-in values.
- Timeslot: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports the total number of tickets and/or add-ons checked-in as well as the total remaining check-ins grouped by timeslot. Numeric values are displayed for each metric to indicate the total and remaining check-ins for that particular row. The table includes the event start date, the start time, the event name, and the total and remaining check-in values.
- Timeslot and type: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports the total number of tickets and/or add-ons checked-in as well as the total remaining check-ins grouped by timeslot and type (ticket type or add-on). Numeric values are displayed for each metric to indicate the total and remaining check-ins for that particular row. The table includes the event start date, the start time, the event name, the ticket type (or add-on) and the total and remaining check-in values.
- Type: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports the total number of tickets and/or add-ons checked-in as well as the total remaining check-ins grouped by ticket and/or add-on type. Cell bars are displayed for each metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
- Teammate: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports the total number of tickets and/or add-ons checked-in grouped by teammate device. Cell bars are displayed for each metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
- Onsite sales by:
- Type: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports net earnings and the number of tickets and/or add-ons sold through the BoxOffice app grouped type. Cell bars are displayed for each metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
- Teammate: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table. The table reports net earnings and the number of tickets and/or add-ons sold grouped by teammate device. Cell bars are displayed for each metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column.
5. Sources tab
Use the Sources tab to track top-performing payment channels, payment types, referrals, and the performance of your promotions.
- Card brand chart: Monitor your net sales grouped by the card brand used by your customers. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage.
- Online vs boxoffice chart: Monitor your net sales grouped by whether the transaction was made online or through the boxoffice app. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage.
- Online sources chart: Monitor your net sales by the payment method customers use for online transactions. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage.
- Boxoffice sources chart: Monitor your net sales by the payment method customers use for transactions made through the boxoffice app. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage.
- Referral chart: Monitor your net sales by the referral channel customers clicked through to access checkout. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage.
- Channel partner chart: Monitor net sales by distributed commerce channel. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. - Partner reseller chart: Monitor net sales grouped by the secondary seller for each of your distributed commerce channels. The size of each slice is proportional to the percentage of net sales it represents. Hover over a slice to view the represented net earnings value and percentage. Access Keys chart: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table grouped by access key, and reports on the number of tickets and/or add-ons sold. Cell bars are displayed for the quantity sold metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column. Use the search box to look up the results for a particular access key.
Discount codes chart: This chart displays a spreadsheet-like table grouped by discount code, and reports on the number of tickets and/or add-ons sold. Cell bars are displayed for the quantity sold metric to indicate how large the cell values are compared to those in the same column. Use the search box to look up the results for a particular discount code. Both event-level and account-level discount codes are included in this chart.
5. Chart actions and downloadable reports
Select the three dots on the right side of any chart to view chart actions and/or download the chart as a report. Chart actions allow you to monitor data freshness, and drill down into charts for better data exploration.
- Force refresh: Select to refresh the chart's data. The time duration since the last cache is also provided.
- Enter fullscreen: View the chart in full-screen mode (i.e., just the chart occupies the entire screen). Select the minimize icon to return to the full dashboard view.
- Download
- Export to .CSV: Download the chart's underlying data to your system in comma-separated value (CSV) format. Charts grouped by a particular time grain will follow that same format in the .CSV export (for example, the Gross Sales chart tracks week-over-week accumulated gross sales).
- Download as image: Download an image of the entire chart in JPEG format.
6. Allowing team members to view the dashboard
If you have added another Universe user to your account as a team member, you can let them view your Dashboard.
Users that have been added as Team Members to your Universe account with the ‘Access to sales and ticket data on the event and account dashboards, and through integrations’ permission will be able to view the Dashboard. If this permission is not enabled, they will not be able to view the Dashboard.
