On Universe, ticket holders for timed entry events can transfer their order to another date and timeslot
without having to get in touch with a customer service representative.
This is a setting which event hosts can choose to enable or disable (“Allow buyers to change date and
time” located in their event’s Advanced Settings section) and if enabled, can choose the time period in
which you can transfer date/time.
When an order has its date/timeslot changed via this feature, there are a few reporting behaviours
explained below:
In the Orders report:
- When an order’s date and timeslot is changed by the ticket holder, a new line item is NOT
created. - The order ID remains the same despite the date/time change.
- The Date Attending and the Event start time date columns will update to display the newly
chosen date and time.
In the Tickets report:
- When a ticket’s date and timeslot is changed by the ticket holder, a new line item is NOT
created. - Both the order ID and ticket ID remains the same despite the date/time change.
- The Date Attending column will update to display the newly chosen date and time.
- The ticket’s QR code remains the same despite the date/time change.
- Note: If filters are being used with the Universe BoxOffice app to ensure people enter the event
for the proper date and timeslot, the ticket holder’s QR code will respect the filters for the new
date and time chosen. It will not be scannable for the original date/time.
