In a recent BoxOffice App release (iOS version 3.0.1) we have removed the ability to manually enter in a customer's credit card details to accept payments at the door. The same change will be rolled out to our Android app in a coming release.
Note: Ticket buyers are still be able to purchase event tickets using their credit card from your event page. This change only affects sales made via the BoxOffice App for event organizers.
Why we are making this change
This change is required in order to ensure Universe and the BoxOffice app's compliance with PCI security requirements. PCI security regulations are an industry standard for companies accepting card payments.
Who is affected
This change affects all hosts using the the iOS and Android BoxOffice apps to manage at the door sales. The manual card entry feature has historically only been used by a very small percentage of our hosts, so anticipated impact will be low.

Other methods for at-the-door payments
If you plan on transacting a large number of sales at the door of your event, Universe has multiple options for you. You can use one of Universe’s payment card reader integrations.
- Stripe WisePad Integration (Canada & UK only)

- Square Reader Integration(US, Canada, UK)
If you already have a standalone payment card reader, you can also use our standalone-third party reader option in BoxOffice to process sales at the door.
