What is Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox?
Saint Luke’s provides live entertainment and function facilities, alongside the capacity to host periodic special events. The venue provides a type of facility which is unique in the East End of Glasgow. Saint Luke’s features a bar and restaurant and is open 7 days a week.
How do I get there?

Saint Luke’s is located in the East End of Glasgow, off the Gallowgate just passed the Barrowland Ballroom.
If you are travelling by bus, there are many that will stop close to Saint Luke’s.
Closest train stations to Saint Luke’s are Bellgrove Bridgeton and Argyle Street. All are within a 15-20min walk.
Is there parking available?
Parking is available on Bain Street and on surrounding streets, metered until 6pm. Un-metered residential areas are available around the venue.
I left/lost something in the venue, what do I do?
If you have lost items or left them in the cloakroom please email the venue directly at events@stlukesglasgow.com. Please include a description of the missing item, date of the show and your contact details. A member of the team will get in touch.
Saint Luke’s can store lost property for a maximum of two weeks and after this period they are donated to local charity shops. Valuable items may be held for a longer period and items such as passports and other forms of identification are handed to the relevant authorities if they are not collected.
Entry to the venue
In accordance with our licensing conditions Saint Luke’s has the right to refuse admission without providing a reason. Identification will be required for entry to the venue. Please see event details as specific events will have different guidelines and restrictions. You can always call us for further information.
Saint Luke’s also has the rights to remove people from the venue at any point for any reason. If you are ejected from the venue and would like to dispute the action then please email us and we will investigate the issue.
Part of the condition of entry is that you agree to a search on arrival.
Saint Luke’s operates a zero tolerance drugs policy. Anyone found with illegal drugs will be banned from the venue and reported to the police. There will be additional measures on top of our search procedures that may be enacted when you visit Saint Luke’s, this may include drug detection methods.
What if I have an injury?
Saint Luke’s has many first aid staff and a room dedicated to first aid. Any injury will be looked at by our medically trained security staff and appropriate action to aid you will be taken.
Is the venue available to hire?
Yes, please email our events team at events@stlukesglasgow.com for hire queries.
Can I bring a camera?
No professional cameras (with large or detachable lenses), video cameras or tape recorders are permitted in the venue. Should you be found to have these on arrival you will be asked to either take them back to somewhere safe or be asked to deposit them in the cloakroom.
Small compact cameras are allowed unless specified on the day of the show.
For the satisfaction of other customers, iPads and/or tablet devices are not permitted to photograph or film during any performances. Customers who persist may be asked to leave the venue.
Do you have a cloakroom?
The venue provides a cloakroom and charges £2.50 per item. Cash only.
If you are bringing a bag bigger than a handbag and items such as bike helmets, backpacks, suitcases with you then we request that these are left in the cloakroom.
Please be aware that no items will be given out from the cloakroom without the matching ticket being presented. If you have lost your ticket you will be asked to wait until the end of the event to collect your belongings. If you are in a rush and do not want to wait, you can email events@stlukesglasgow.com during the week to arrange a time to come and collect your belongings.

What can I wear?
Dress Codes may change depending on the night or event. Please call ahead to discuss this if required.
Can I bring drinks or food in?
No external food or drinks can be brought into Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox.
Should you require any items for medical reasons please make this known to the security on entry.
ID policy
Please ensure you bring ID to the venue.
Accepted forms of ID are:
Driver’s License - full or provisional
Valid Passport
Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated. It will either be handed over to the police or sent back to the issuing authority.
Challenge 25
All customers who look under the age of 25 will be required to provide ID when purchasing alcohol.
If you are under 18 and attempt to purchase alcohol then you will be committing a criminal offence. You may be ejected without a refund or held until a responsible adult can come and collect you.
Only acceptable forms of proof age are accepted. These are listed in the ID policy.

Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox takes a zero tolerance towards drugs.
What if I have a problem on the night?
If you have a complaint about the venue or an event then please speak to a member of security or the management team.
Complaints after an event should be sent in writing (via email) directly to events@stlukesglasgow.com
I have contacted the venue, how long does it take to respond?
We try and respond to all emails and messages on the same day but please allow up to 48 hours for a response.
How loud is it?
Please be aware that there will be high sound levels during shows and patrons may be subject to continuous sound levels that may cause potential damage to hearing. Earplugs are available on the bar should they be required.
The venue operates a neighbour friendly policy when leaving the venue please make as little noise as possible.
Do you use special effects?
Some shows may contain strobe lighting, smoke and other special effects. Should you have any concerns please contact the venue prior to arrival or speak to a member of staff on the night.
Is there any seating?
There is limited unreserved seating at Saint Luke’s. We have unreserved seating in our balcony area and an accessibility area which can be booked via events@stlukesglasgow.com – please note there is limited space in this area.
What time does Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox open?
Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox is open from 12pm til 12am Monday to Friday, 11am – 12am Saturday and Sunday.
Smoking policy
Saint Luke’s and the Winged Ox is a non-smoking venue. Smoking or vaping is not permitted in any area of the venue. A smoking area is available in our beer garden and in Bain Square. Those found to be smoking or vaping inside the venue will be ejected without a refund.
