Our 3rd Party Barcodes Import feature lets event hosts upload barcodes generated by other ticketing companies to the Universe platform. These tickets can then be scanned by the Universe BoxOffice app, making onsite training and operations simple as can be!
Before the upload process begins, it’s important that the data is formatted correctly.
Formatting the data:
- Data will need to be saved as a CSV file.
- Headers are optional (if you do have a header in your file, please make sure to tick the header box.
- If you need a bit of extra help, please feel free to download the template file to help get your data in order!
- Data needs to be in the following order (with each piece of information in a separate column): First name, last name, email, barcode, ticket type, event date.
Example:
To upload the file:
- Navigate to the event’s Orders and Attendees page.
- Click “Import External Attendees”.
- Upload your CSV (make sure to mark whether or not this CSV contains a header row) and proceed to data mapping.
- Map ticket types and proceed.
- Map event date and proceed.
- Enter the barcode provider (this is where you got the barcodes from) into the ‘Source’ field.
- Start Import.
If you’d like to see the attendees and barcodes which you’ve uploaded, go to the External Attendees tab that will be present once an import has been completed.
Deleting External Attendees
If you’d like to delete barcodes imported into the Universe system, please use the ‘Ticket Provider’ dropdown to select the import you would like to delete. Once you’ve navigated to your desired selection, please use the trash icon to proceed with your deletion. Please note that this will delete all external attendees that were associated with the import. Deletion is final and cannot be undone.
Please note: these uploaded tickets do not count towards your event total ticket counts and will not show in your general reporting (these will only display on the check-ins report, where you will be able to see the ‘Ticket Provider’ column showing the source of these tickets as it was inputted on the original upload).
