Payment processing preferences

Universe has two options for payment processing when selling tickets to your event. 

All payments on Universe are fully secure and PCI compliant. For further information and to view our Attestation of PCI Compliance, click here. 

Stripe Connect:
Integrate with Stripe to process payments using your own payment processor. Stripe will typically pay out funds 7 days after the first buyer transaction is received for first time accounts. For certain industries, this waiting period can be up to 14 days. You can confirm the payout schedule through your Stripe dashboard or take a look at this guide. Stripe Connect is recommended if you'll need the funds before your event. Integrate with Stripe Connect.

 Note:  When integrating with Stripe, you'll be charged a processing fee by Stripe directly, and by default the Stripe fee is not passed on as a Universe fee through our system. If you'd like to pass this fee on to your buyers, you can do so by creating an additional fee.

Warning: Once a ticket has sold on your event using Stripe Connect, you will be unable to change your payment processor back to Universe Payments.

 Note: Universe Service Fees stay the same when using Stripe Connect payment processing; however the payment processing fee varies depending on your rate with Stripe.

Universe Payments (Default):
Universe payments is the default payment processing option and there is no set up required. When using Universe Payments, all payments for your event will be processed using our payment processor. A payment processing fee will apply which can be passed on to buyers (this is the default with the exception of some locations) or it can be absorbed into your price. The funds from your event will be added to your Universe account balance 48 hours after the end of your event. You can then request your funds from your Universe Dashboard to receive them via direct deposit (worldwide), cheque (US and Canada only) or wire transfer (select currencies). Universe does not offer advances on these funds.
