How a Universe Queue Works

You may be seeing a virtual waiting room or queue on the Universe event you want to purchase tickets for. Here’s a bit more information about why you’re seeing it and what to expect throughout your ticket purchasing experience.

What is a queue?

Websites use a virtual waiting room or queue when they expect or receive high levels of online traffic. Virtual queues help keep demand from overwhelming online services. They bring order to high demand onsale situations, to ensure everyone gets a fair shot at the tickets they want to purchase.

Why am I seeing a countdown?

This is because the onsale to your event has not yet started. Once it starts, you’ll be randomised along with others from the waiting room and let into the booking flow when it reaches your turn.

Why am I waiting?

You are waiting because either the event you want to access is not yet open for ticket sales, or the event is receiving a large amount of fans at the same time trying to buy tickets and wants to grant access in a fair, first-come-first-served order.

Can I lose my place in the queue?
No. You keep your place in the queue even if your phone goes on to standby or you close the queue page. When you go back to the queue page you will see updated progress. Keep an eye on your queue progress because when it's your turn you will have a limited window of time to enter the event’s checkout flow.

What happens when it's my turn?

If you have the queue page open when it's your turn, you will automatically be redirected into the event’s checkout flow, which you originally wanted to visit. If you do not have the queue page open when it's your turn, you will see a pop-up when you return to the queue page notifying you when your turn started and confirming that you want to proceed to the event’s checkout flow.

What does it mean if the queue is "paused"?

When a queue is paused, no one will be redirected into the event’s checkout flow, so everyone will be kept in the queue until it is resumed. The queue can be paused for business or technical reasons. When the queue resumes, you will keep the same place in it.

Can I somehow skip the Universe queue?

No, the queue may not be skipped. 

Will I get tickets if I have a spot in the queue?

Just like before, tickets are always based on availability, demand, and are not guaranteed.
