TICKETING
When is the Festival taking place?
The Festival is taking place October 4-10, 2021.
How do I buy tickets?
All-access digital passes, tickets for in-person outdoor events, and tickets for Dining In with The New Yorker go on sale on Tuesday, September 14th, at 12 P.M. E.T. Passes for individual virtual events will be available for purchase on Monday, September 20th, at 12 P.M. E.T. There are also limited tickets for in-person events in N.Y.C. This category includes Dining In experiences, as well as Drive-In events at Skyline Drive-In, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Virtual Tickets
Because each screening code is linked to an e-mail address, you can only purchase one ticket to a single virtual event in each transaction. If you would like to purchase tickets to multiple virtual events, you will have to buy each ticket as a separate transaction. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If multiple members of your household plan to watch the virtual event, you only need to purchase one ticket—the access link that this ticket entitles you to will allow you to view the event on one device in your household as many times as you like, until November 10th.
Once you have purchased your ticket(s), you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Ticket confirmations will be sent by our ticket provider, Universe, and streaming details will be sent by our streaming provider, Headliner. You may purchase tickets prior to the event’s start time in order to tune in live, or you may purchase a ticket at any time until November 10, 2021, in order to watch a recording.
What’s included in the virtual all-access ticket?
Only one all-access ticket can be purchased per transaction. It includes access to all virtual events, except the Drive-In screening of “The Humans” and Dining In with The New Yorker Festival.
If I want to view or attend only a specific event, can I purchase a single ticket?
Yes! Single virtual tickets are $19 and community events are free.
I never received an order-confirmation e-mail. How do I request a copy?
Please make sure to check your spam folder. If you are still unable to locate your confirmation, please write to support@universe.com with the name and e-mail address associated with your ticket order. The team will gladly resend a confirmation to the e-mail address that you supplied at checkout.
What is the cancellation policy?
All tickets are nonrefundable. However, if you would like to transfer your virtual ticket to someone else because you do not plan to attend, please go to https://www.headliner.live/tickets and log in. Follow the instructions found here.
I bought a virtual ticket for a friend. How do I give it to them?

Where is the Drive-In?
Skyline Drive-In NYC is a unique drive-in cinema experience, located at 1 Oak Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It is situated on the East River, and has views of the Manhattan skyline.
Is the price per person or per car?
It depends on the ticket! We offer ticket prices per car, and for these tickets the price includes admission for each person in the vehicle, with a maximum of four people. We also have outdoor pedestrian seating for those without a car—these seats are priced per person. Even if you purchased a car ticket, we recommend bringing blankets or collapsible chairs to use outside of your car.
What time should I arrive?
We encourage you to come to the venue up to an hour early. You can enjoy the Manhattan skyline views while you wait, and the theatre’s concession stand will be open for business.
How many people are allowed in my car?
All tickets include entry for one car, with up to four people per vehicle. For the best viewing experience, we recommend two people per car.
Is there assigned seating?
No, there is not. All spots are first come, first served.
Can I leave early?
If you need to leave early, we can try to accommodate you. Just let one of our security guards know when they check your ticket prior to the show. If you don’t let a guard know, you may be blocked in for the duration of the movie.
Can I buy food and drinks?
Yes, the venue has a concession stand on site, which opens one hour before each show. Feel free to come early and purchase snacks beforehand, or stop by the stand during the event.
Can I bring my children?
We suggest that all attendees be age seventeen or older, owing to the content of our events.
Can I bring an animal to the Drive-In?
Only service animals are permitted. No other animals will be admitted.
Will the Drive-In events take place in bad weather?
Events will continue under most weather conditions. The Drive-In does utilize large outdoor screens, and, in the event of sustained heavy winds or an imminent storm, we may need to delay the start of an event until weather conditions have improved.
