Advanced Feature: This feature is recommended for advanced users familiar with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager only.
Checkout abandonment data can be useful if an event host/organizer would like to find out how many ticket buyers leave their page before completing the desired action. For example: Get data on how many ticket buyers exited your event page after selecting a particular ticket type, or if a host wants to know how many people dropped off after clicking on a specific date/time on the calendar widget.
While our team is working hard on providing a checkout abandonment feature on our platform, a good workaround is by manually pulling the data from Google Analytics Events or E-Commerce tracking with Google Tag Manager.
Depending on the type of information you would like to retrieve, you would need to do one or more of the following:
1. Using Google Tag Manager (GTM), fire an event every time a user opens the calendar lightbox on your website. You could even have different events for which ticket type CTA they click on.
2. Use GTM to fire an event when somebody opens checkout for a specific date.
3. Use GTM to fire an event when somebody completes checkout for a specific date.
Download the Google Analytics (GA) report, copy and paste the report into excel and calculate how many people abandoned your event page without making a purchase but opened the calendar.
