Accepting BRL payments for your event

You can accept payments in BRL for both Universe Payments and Stripe Connect accounts on Universe.

For events using Universe Payments:

You will be notified when your payout is available after your event, which will be 30 days after the event’s end-date if transacting in BRL. This is because our payment provider, Stripe Inc., holds the funds for 30 days from the time they receive the funds to the time they release them to you, the payee (or event organizer). We then wait until the event has ended to transfer all funds to you at once.

For events using Stripe Connect:

Your funds can be deposited into your bank account as they become available. The 30 day waiting period will still occur so funds will only become available 30 days after they are received.

Stripe has expressed to us their desire to shorten this holding period in the future.
