Customize your event URL to trigger specific desired behaviours including opening the modal immediately, and automatically applying a discount code or access key. Note: Use advanced triggers if you'd like people who click on a certain ad to be redirected to your website and benefit from a certain discount code when purchasing tickets.
Note: To set this up, you must have already created a Universe event page and are selling tickets to it directly on your website.
This article covers both selling tickets on your website as well as universe.com
To set the modal to open immediately when someone accesses the page:
1. Add /?unii-trigger-open= to the end of your URL and then directly after that input your event's unique ID.
If you are selling tickets on your website, the URL you will be modifying is the page on your website where the Universe widget is installed.
If you are selling tickets on Universe, the URL is your event page. Tip: To find your event's unique ID, navigate to your event page on www.universe.com and copy the 5-6 digit code at the end of the URL (located after your event name and location).
For example, if your event URL is https://www.universe.com/events/explore-the-bay-tickets-san-francisco-04Z6FC, your event ID is 04Z6FC. With this added to your trigger, the modified URL would look like: www.yourcompanywebsite.com/?unii-trigger-open=04Z6FC
To have the modal open immediately when someone accesses your Universe event page, use the URL: https://www.universe.com/events/explore-the-bay-tickets-san-francisco-04Z6FC/?unii-trigger-open=04Z6FC
To set the modal to have a discount code already applied when someone opens the modal:
1. Add /?unii-discount-code= to the end of your URL and then directly after that input the desired discount code. You can add any single discount code created on your event page. This will not override any settings for the discount code you have already set (ie: how many times the code can be used and the ticket types it can be applied to). For more info on creating and managing discount codes, click here. Note: As an example, if you create a discount code named EARLYBIRD and want it to be applied when someone opens the booking modal on your website, the URL you would create would be: www.yourcompanywebsite.com/?unii-discount-code=EARLYBIRD
To automatically apply a discount code when someone opens the modal on your Universe event page, the URL would be (for example): https://www.universe.com/events/explore-the-bay-tickets-san-francisco-04Z6FC/?unii-discount-code=EARLYBIRD
To set the modal to have an access key already applied when someone opens the modal:
1. Add /?unii-access-key= to the end of your URL and then directly after that input the desired access key. You can add any single access key created on your event page. For more info on creating and managing access keys, click here. Note: As an example, if you create an access key named VIP and want it to be already applied when someone opens the booking modal on your website, that is the access key you would add the end of your URL. The URL would then be: www.yourcompanywebsite.com/?unii-access-key=VIP
To automatically apply an access key when someone opens the modal on your Universe event page, the URL would be: https://www.universe.com/events/explore-the-bay-tickets-san-francisco-04Z6FC/?unii-access-key=VIP
To set the modal to have more than one behaviour:
If you would like 2 or 3 of the behaviours to happen, for example, open the modal immediately when the webpage is accessed with a discount code and/or access key already applied, combine the codes for your desired behaviours above with a & to your URL.
Note: the /? portion of the code only needs to be added once directly after the end of your website URL. For example, www.yourcompanywebsite.com/?unii-trigger-open=04Z6FC&unii-discount-code=EARLYBIRD&unii-access-key=VIP
As an example, it would appear as follows on your Universe event page: https://www.universe.com/events/explore-the-bay-tickets-san-francisco-04Z6FC?unii-trigger-open=04Z6FC&unii-discount-code=EARLYBIRD&unii-access-key=VIP
