Is general entry included with my ticket?
Yes – you will be able to view all free areas of the Design Museum and our permanent collection for free and without making a booking.
Where is the Design Museum?
The Design Museum is located at 224-228 Kensington High Street, W8 6AG. The closest tube stations are High Street Kensington.
When is the Design Museum open?
The Design Museum is open seven days a week at the following times: Monday to Thursday: 10:00 to 17:00, Friday and Sunday: 10:00 to 18:00, and Saturday 10:00 to 20:00. We are closed over the Christmas period from 24 to 26 December.
Last entry to our exhibitions is one hour and a half before the museum closes.
Can I bring a carer with me and do they require a ticket?
Yes, you can bring a carer. There is no need to book an additional ticket, however, once you arrive at the Design Museum please speak with a member of staff at the ticket desk and they will provide you with a free carer ticket upon entry.
Does the Design Museum have parking?
The Design Museum does not have any public parking spaces, however we do have two accessible parking spaces which are reserved for blue badge holders. To make an accessible parking booking please email access@designmuseum.org or call 020 3862 5937. We advise making a booking at least 3 working days before you intend to visit.
I’m running late for my booking!
If you are late for your booking, we will still be able to admit you on the same day – as long as you arrive at least an hour and a half before the Design Museum closes. If you are late for a booking and you arrive later than this time, we are unable to guarantee entry to the exhibition.
Latecomers may be asked to wait up to 15 minutes before entering the gallery if we are particularly busy.
Can I change the date/time of my booking?
Yes, we are happy to amend your booking to another date/time if we have suitable availability.
Can I get a refund for my booking?
The Design Museum does not offer refunds for any of our ticketed events. If you are unable to attend on the date/time you have booked, then we would be happy to amend your booking to an alternative date/time where we have availability.
Can I give my ticket to a friend/family member?
Yes, if you are unable to attend an exhibition and you would like to pass your ticket on to someone else, or if you are buying a ticket on behalf of someone else then they can enter using a booking made under your name. However, please be aware that once a ticket has been redeemed at the gallery entrance it cannot be used for subsequent re-entry.

What happens when I buy a Design Museum Membership from Ticketmaster?
A membership is valid for 364 days and you can access all of your benefits from the date of payment. Use your order confirmation email as proof of your active Membership. You will also receive a welcome email with a unique digital membership card by the end of the next business day, which can be presented at Design Museum till points in our shop and café, and scanned at the exhibition entrance.
What are the Design Museum membership benefits?
Members have unlimited, free access to all Design Museum exhibitions for two adults and up to three children (6-15 years old). All members get 10% discount on food and drink in the Design Cafe and Design Kitchen, 10% discount in our shops online and instore (some exclusions apply), up to 20% discount on bookings for events, talks and workshops for the cardholder only, and access to our exclusive members newsletter.
How will I access Membership benefits at the Design Museum?
Your digital membership card will grant you free access to paid exhibitions and it will allow you to get discounts in the Design Museum shops and café.
Can my Membership be transferred to another person?
Your membership is non-transferable and may only be used by the person whose name is on the Membership order and digital membership card. Membership Plus holders may be required to show at any time a valid form of ID upon request. Membership Plus groups are assumed to be family units.
Do I need to book free tickets to the exhibition?
As a member you don't need to book tickets to the exhibitions – your digital membership card will grant access whenever you wish to visit. Please show it at the exhibition entrance for check-in.
Which events do I have to book for?
Members must book tickets for Design Museum talks, courses and workshops and for exclusive events including members' preview day.
Will I receive updates about my benefits? How?
Members will receive e-newsletters on a fortnightly basis.
How will I receive communications?
Your Membership booking information and any other important updates will be emailed to you using the email address you signed up with. If you are not receiving these emails, it is your responsibility to let us know.
Can the current benefits offer change?
The package of member benefits is subject to periodic review and may change over the course of the membership. Benefits of membership are non-contractual and may be withdrawn at any time without notice
I can't access the internet, and I don't have a mobile device or email. Can I request a physical card?
For members who do not have mobile devices or have special conditions (such as no email address or internet access), you can collect a physical version of your card at the museum. Speak to a member of staff at the museum.
Am I eligible for a refund?
Membership refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis at the Design Museum’s discretion. If a membership has been used (i.e. you have gained entrance to an exhibition via your membership), you are not eligible for a refund. If you have been granted a refund for your membership, the terms will be explained to you in writing via email and will cover any loss incurred, e.g. admissions fees to exhibitions.
